Reflection: Enterprise Architecture KWL
What I Know
The role of school is changing. Today’s learners must be prepared for communication at a large global scale. They must be prepared to compete globally, and have skills to access the technology that connects those communications.
What I Would Like to Know
With Enterprise Architecture models in mind, I would like to know how I can create a purposeful schooling experience that will both prepare today’s and future students with the skills to meet their technological needs, and prepare the school organization to remain adaptable to the ever-changing climate of technology. Because today's business growth is widely based on technology, and learning is based on the use of technological resources, it is imperative we prepare to meet those future needs.
What I Learned
Enterprise Architecture Frameworks are useful when preparing an organization in planning for a level of preparedness for the future. It is the mapping of the present and future state of an organization. I learned that there are 5 models, or frameworks designed to meet the needs of different types of organizations to use or adapt to meet their needs. The big idea is that an organization understand that all systems within the organization are meant to work together and not independently of one another towards one common goal for future growth and success.
Models:
1. Zachman Framework
2. The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF)
3. Federal Enterprise Architecture Framework (FEAF)
4. Treasury Enterprise Architecture Framework (TEAF)
5. Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF)
