What is the vision?
This organization has already established a vision for becoming a future-ready school with updated bandwidth capacity at 1G per school site, blended learning with the use of the latest devices, and personalized learning plans for each learner. They have also succeeded in creating a master facilities plan for each school site that includes the latest design for learning environments.
First Steps
Bringing these key players together to share the needs of each area within the organization will be an important first step in determining the best path to reaching the vision of a personalized learning model that is future-ready. Currently, they have created a master facilities plan with all stakeholders involved which includes many key components of an efficient organization. The organization is in prime position to make a greater commitment to adopting a strategic plan such as an enterprise architecture to align all departments. By taking advantage of recently given surveys, listening circles, and committee updates a plethora of information will be supplied to the team. Using this valuable information gathered from teaching staff, leaders, stakeholders, and from students will provide a clear perspective of the culture of the organization as well as identify any gaps in systems that are in place.
Why an EA?
With a master facilities plan in place, and future plans for major changes to the physical structures of school campuses in the near future, it will serve greatly to move forward within a strategically mapped organization. With all stakeholders on board communicating progress , the path to its future success will be inevitable. Letting go of individual site goals will produce a greater focus for one organization as a whole rather than being a disconnected system working as one entity. Together change can happen most efficiently.
